Paul Andersen has been working with science teachers across all ISG schools on NGSS implementation and questioning. Teachers have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback about his visit and the impact their work with him is starting to have in their science classrooms.
As a next step in developing Professional Learning Coherence at ISG, the district leadership and school administrators are coordinating with the PL Task Force to develop a Professional Growth and Evaluation system that will be piloted in the Spring of 2019 with a group of volunteers from each school. Keep an eye out for an update from Eric Brown that will call for participants in the initial “beta group.”

The ISG Core Arts teachers and the Learning Office are pleased to invite you to the ISG Arts Festival on January 22, 2019. This year we are displaying a variety of art forms from all ISG schools! The display will showcase the diverse range of skills, talents, and techniques as well as the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
ISG is honored to be co-hosting an inaugural Compassion Summit for students alongside the American Community School in Amman, Jordan from March 14-16, 2019. Inspired by the Charter for Compassion, the goal of the Summit is to build an ethos of compassion in our K-12 schools and to bring like minded schools together to create, enhance, and promote greater levels of compassion within our school communities. Our goal is to create a coalition of schools committed to compassionate action.
The development of a Scope & Sequence across ISG schools is underway for English Language Arts, Physical Education, and Social Studies. Thanks to those teachers who are participating in this meaningful work and laying the groundwork for developing a Scope & Sequence for each of the remaining subject areas. Stay tuned for final products in the months to come.
